Founded in 1993 by Philip and Penny Poyntz who recognized a gap in the industry that needed to be filled, they needed an efficient, secure, and custom-built solution to load sod onto flatbed trucks.
That’s when the Covered Wagon™ solution was born. An industry-first, the Covered Wagon™ is designed to meet the needs of each company we work with in a variety of industries. We believe in customization, understanding that every business has their own unique set of requirements.
In 2025, the Poyntz Covered Wagon system was acquired by Matt and Whitney Gauthier, who were early adopters of the system within their generational family business, Fairgreen Sod Farms. They saw first hand the benefits of the system and the opportunity to grow the company by introducing it to other industries.
